NHL Rumors: Latest On Carey Price in Montreal

Montreal Canadiens netminder Carey Price is expected to once again begin his knee rehabilitation and according to Canadiens vice president of hockey communications Chantal Machabee, the goalie will be out indefinitely.

At this point it certainly feels like while he will rehab, Price isn't likely to play at all this season. There's certainly an argument for both sides as the Canadiens sit near the bottom of the NHL standings. Some feel he should be getting back into the net as soon as possible, meanwhile others feel what's the point and mid as well come back next season.

End of the day Price needs to get healthy ASAP so lets hope this is the next step in the process. There's a ton of trade interest in the veteran from other teams including the Edmonton Oilers and Colorado Avalanche and eyes will certainly be peeled to his medical reports as we approach next offseason.

For Montreal, they move on with Jake Allen and company this season as they look destined for the lottery and the Shane Wright sweepstakes. As for Allen, he's posted a .901 save % with a 3.15 GAA and he himself has become a trade target for other teams.

Interesting times for the Canadiens as they finish up a wasted season and we all could be slowly witnessing the end of the Price era in Montreal.
