NHL Rumors: 3 Possible Trade Destinations For Jakob Chychrun

With the trade deadline getting closer, there arguably isn't a bigger name available than Arizona Coyotes defenseman Jakob Chychrun. With the Coyotes currently in a full-on rebuild, they have decided to put the 23-year-old defenseman on the trading block. Not only is he a top-pairing defenseman, but he also has an affordable $4.6 million cap hit until the end of the 2024-25 season. He is having a down year, but there is still a lot of interest in him around the league.

Here are three potential trade destinations for him.

Florida Panthers: The Panthers are linked to Chychrun and could use some help on the left side of their defense. It has already been reported that they are willing to trade Owen Tippett if it helps them acquire top-of-the-line talent. He could be an amazing fit on their top pair with Aaron Ekblad especially, so it makes sense as to why they want him.

St. Louis Blues: Like the Panthers, the Blues are also interested in Chychrun. The Blues have been actively looking for a left-handed defenseman since the summer, as they lost Vince Dunn to the Seattle Kraken. Chychrun would be a clear upgrade over him and could help them have a better chance of competing against their Central Division rivals.

New York Rangers: The Rangers had an offer in place for Chychrun, but a deal did not occur. However, that does not mean that they will stop trying. They have the prospect pool and cap space to get a deal done. Furthermore, when looking at how much they have improved this season alone, they can go out and make a game-changing splash by the deadline.
