NHL Rumors: Bruins Interested In Veteran Winger

According to David Pagnotta, Phil Kessel could be heading back to the team who drafted him, as the Boston Bruins are expressing interest in the 34-year-old winger.

The Bruins would benefit from adding another top-six right winger to their group. Although the need for a second-line center is there, it's clear that they haven't been receiving much scoring at right wing - excluding from David Pastrnak, of course.

Kessel has been in the rumor mill since this offseason, but the Arizona Coyotes have yet to trade him. Yet, with his contract set to expire and multiple teams interested in him, it has to be happening soon. It would be interesting to see him return to the Bruins after 13 years.

In 50 games this season, Kessel has six goals to go along with an impressive 27 assists. His goal totals are down, but if he were acquired by Boston, he'd have far more offensive weapons to work with. This is especially true if he accompanied Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand on the first line.

Nevertheless, it will be intriguing to see if he ends up back in Boston, If Pagnotta's report is true, there's a distinct possibility.
