NHL Rumors: Blue Jackets And Oilers Talking Trade

According to Elliotte Friedman, the Columbus Blue Jackets and Edmonton Oilers are discussing a potential trade centering around Dean Kukan.

Kukan is a solid depth defenseman who also just so happens to be having the best season of his career thus far. In 29 games, he has three goals, six assists, and nine points. All three of these major statistics are career-highs for the 26-year-old defenseman.

When looking at Edmonton's roster, Kukan would likely either play on their bottom pair or be an upgrade as their seventh d-man. Either way, he would be a very solid addition to the Oilers for their playoff run - if they end up making it of course.

In 141 career games over six years with the Blue Jackets, Kukan has five goals and 23 assists. It will be intriguing to see if he ends up on the Oilers by next Monday.
