Penguins To Sign Young Center

The Pittsburgh Penguins are set to sign prospect Jordan Frasca to an entry-level contract, according to Darren Dreger. It will begin during the 2022-23 season.

This has the potential to be a very good signing for the Penguins. Although Frasca went undrafted, he is starting to raise his value as a prospect. In 44 games this season with the Kingston Frontenacs of the OHL, he has 32 goals, 33 assists, and a plus-29 rating. It's been a notable step forward for the 20-year-old, as he had 43 points in 58 games with the team last season. Although that isn't bad production at all, he has improved immensely from it.

One shouldn't gloss over the fact that Frasca is a center, too. This is a position where Pittsburgh needs to be focusing on when it comes to their prospect pool, as Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin are in the later stages of their careers. Furthermore, the latter has an expiring contract this summer and could even elect to sign elsewhere for the right price.

It will be intriguing to see what the future will hold for Frasca in Pittsburgh. Overall, this looks like a nice signing for the Penguins.
