NHL Rumors: Ducks Goalie Denies Trade Request

Earlier this week, reports came out that John Gibson requested a trade from the Anaheim Ducks. However, after being asked by The Athletic's Eric Stephens about it, the 28-year-old said that he wants to stay in Anaheim.

With this development, it appears that Gibson will more than likely be remaining with the Ducks from here. This certainly is rough news for teams looking to upgrade at the goaltending position, as he was arguably the best option potentially available.

Gibson will now be looking to bounce back from a rough 2021-22 campaign. In 56 games for the Ducks, he sported an 18-26-11 record, 3.19 GAA, and .904 SV%.
