NHL Rumors: Oilers Could Trade Defenseman

According to Allan Mitchell of The Athletic, Dmitri Samorukov could be traded this offseason.

Mitchell notes that Samorukov could be made available because he is eligible to be placed on waivers next season. Thus, if the Oilers do not feel that he is ready for the NHL, they will likely trade him instead of running the risk of losing him for nothing.

Samorukov played one game for Edmonton this season and sported a minus-2 during it. The 22-year-old also recorded 18 points in 51 games played for the Bakersfield Condors.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Samorukov from here, but this is something to pay attention to.
