NHL Rumors: Stars Linked To Canadiens Defenseman

According to Pierre LeBrun, the Dallas Stars could target Montreal Canadiens defenseman Jeff Petry if John Klingberg leaves via free agency.

Petry was actually linked to the Stars before the trade deadline, so it wouldn't be shocking to see them pursue him again. The Michigan native is seeking a change of scenery, and Dallas could be a solid spot for him to get back into the playoffs next year.

After a very rough start to the season, Petry finished strongly and raised his trade value back up in the process. In 68 games on the year, he scored six goals and recorded 27 points. 21 of those points came in his final 28 games.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if the Stars bring in Petry from here.
