Blues & Flames Emerging as Trade Partners

According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Calgary Flames are trying to add a scoring forward and the St Louis Blues have been linked to a potential deal.

The Blues have struggled this season and are a team to watch who may be willing to make significant changes in season. Both teams don't have basically any cap space so it will need to be a money-in money-out type of trade.

Some trade candidates from either team include Flames defensemen Chris Tanev and young forward Dillon Dube. As far as the Blues are considered, Ivan Barbashev is a prime candidate, meanwhile one forward who may come into play here is Vladimir Tarasenko.

The Blues are going to hold off for now as they've shown some positive signs of late, winning their last two games. However, if they aren't secured in a playoff spot towards the end of this calendar year, expect to see some massive changes in St Louis including Tarasenko, Barbashev and captain Ryan O'Reilly all being dealt. The Flames would gladly take any of these three off their hands.
