NHL Rumors: Arizona Coyotes to Shop Forward

Every hockey fan knows that the Arizona Coyotes are in a full-on rebuild. Since the 2021 NHL Offseason, they have traded away several former core players. However, this is a trend that we may see continue, as Nick Schmaltz is becoming a prime trade candidate from them.

Although the 26-year-old has been limited to one game this season due to injury, his trade value may be at its highest. And why is that? Well, the 2014 first-round pick is coming off of a season that saw him score 23 goals and record 59 points in 63 games. This kind of production certainly makes him an appealing target, and the Coyotes might want to sell high.

Schmaltz is set to return to the Coyotes' lineup shortly, and it will be intriguing to see if he can replicate the offensive production he had last season. If so, expect Arizona to listen to offers for him, as they could get a great return for him.
