Flyers Defenseman Officially Ruled Out for Season

While speaking with reporters on Thursday, Philadelphia Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher announced that Ryan Ellis will not play this season.

Fletcher previously noted that it was unlikely that Ellis would play this campaign, but now he has officially confirmed it. Although this is not a surprising development, it is still very rough to hear that the 31-year-old defenseman will not be able to get into any game action this year.

Since being traded to the Flyers during the 2021 Offseason, Ellis has played in just four games with Philadelphia, where he has one goal and five points. Given the severity of his injuries, there's a legitimate chance that this is where his stats as a Flyer will end. Here's to hoping that this is not the case.
