Los Angeles Kings' Top Trade Candidate This Season

The Los Angeles Kings have an abundance of riches on their back-end, meaning that they can afford to trade one or more of their defencemen. Seeing how they have four right-shot defencemen in their top-six and also Brandt Clarke who played nine games for them this season, someone must be shipped out.

The team's top trade candidate therefore is Sean Walker, the least effective of the right-shot defencemen the Kings have. He's a pretty good bottom-pairing defencemen and an alright second pair defender as well. He is playing three to four minutes fewer per game than last season, indicating other defencemen have passed him by and he isn't needed on the Kings anymore.

It is possible he is included in a deadline trade or moved out by that time to clear a bit of cap. Signed through next season, the team shouldn't have a ton of problems moving him. He is capable of playing more than he has a bit of offensive ability in his game.

He has been mentioned in more than one rumour this season due to the fact that the team has more than enough defencemen on the right side. Matt Roy may also soon become an option for them, but he has been more effective than Walker this season.
