NHL Rumors: Boston Bruins Defenseman Becoming Trade Candidate

The Boston Bruins currently sport a 20-3-1 record and are expected to be major buyers at the trade deadline because of it. If they aim to make a big splash before the postseason, one player who we could see as a part of a trade package is 2015 first-round pick Jakub Zboril.

Now that the Bruins are fully healthy on defense, Zboril has become the odd man out of their top six. He has not played since Nov. 23 and has routinely been a healthy scratch. As a result, it seems likely that Boston would have no problem adding him to a trade package to land an upgrade to their roster.

Rebuilding/non-playoff teams could express interest in Zboril as well, as he has shown in the past that he can be a decent bottom-pairing defenseman. However, when noting that he is still young, one could argue that he may have some upside, too. Alas, we will have to wait and see if Zboril ends up being dealt before the deadline.
