NHL Rumors: 3 Goaltenders Linked to 2023 Deadline Trades

The NHL goalie trade market ahead of the 2023 deadline may be thin, however it's starting to heat up. There's been some rumblings via a few different reporters in regards to some of the goalies who are in play at the moment, let's take a look at three netminders expected to be moved:

Thomas Greiss, St Louis Blues

For a 36 year old veteran who has posted a 3.23 GAA there seems to be a ton of interest in Greiss. The Blues are projected to sell ahead of the March 3 trade deadline and Griess has already been linked to the LA Kings, Pittsburgh Penguins, and New Jersey Devils. He's a pending free agent who is making just over $1 million against the cap this season. Last time Greiss played in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, he posted a .929 save %.

James Reimer, San Jose Sharks

The Sharks are expected to be one of the busiest teams ahead of the deadline. Reimer is a pending free agent who has been great for the past couple of seasons on a struggling Sharks team. He's a pro's pro who is a gem to any dressing room he joins. Reimer has also been linked to the Kings and Devils and could be an option for the Toronto Maple Leafs should Matt Murray or Ilya Samsonov go down.

Cam Talbot, Ottawa Senators

One starter who is an upgrade for some teams is Ottawa Senators goalie Cam Talbot. He's also a pending free agent and could be on the radar of Stanley Cup Playoff bound teams. The likes of the Devils, Buffalo Sabres and Edmonton Oilers are likely to kick tires. What about this potential deal: Talbot to the Oilers for Jack Campbell?
