NHL Rumors: 4 Teams Linked To Blackhawks' Domi

There is no doubt that the Chicago Blackhawks are trading Max Domi at the trade deadline. The destination is what is in question. He has the low cap hit ($3 million AAV) and the offensive production that has grabbed the attention of a number of teams. Add in the fact that he is perfect for playoff-type hockey and the Blackhawks will be able to retain salary, and which playoff-bound team wouldn't want to add him into their middle-six?

Recently, four teams have been linked to Domi by David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period. Those teams are the New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Dallas Stars, and New Jersey Devils. All of these teams are looking for cheap forward help by the deadline and have the need for a second line or middle-six player like Domi.

Domi has been playing like he did early in his career. He had a hot start to the season, but has kept up production to provide the Blackhawks with 11 goals and 26 points in 38 games. It was a smart move for the team to sign a couple of players who have previously been able to put up points to play higher in their lineup and provide trade value at the deadline.

Domi can play centre or the wing and even though he doesn't make many hits, he is a rough player who will get under opponents' skin. The Carolina Hurricanes acquired him last season for their playoff run and he provided three goals and six points in 14 playoff games averaging 10 minutes per game. He has proven to be much better than he was last season and would be able to provide even more.
