NHL Rumors: Anaheim Ducks Forward to be Traded

The Anaheim Ducks are currently in the bottom portion of the NHL standings, so they are expected to be major sellers at the trade deadline. As a result, any player who is a pending UFA will likely be dealt by the time the deadline passes. According to Frank Seravalli, Derek Grant will probably be one of the players that end up being moved.

Although Grant is not a star by any stretch of the imagination, he is a serviceable bottom-six forward who should get a good amount of interest because of it. He not only can chip in pretty well offensively while playing at his best, but he is a very solid penalty killer due to his reliable defensive play. This only heightens his value as a potential trade target.

When we get closer to the trade deadline, do not be surprised to see Grant’s market increase significantly. We will have to wait and see where Grant ends the season, but it does not seem likely that he will still be a Duck by then.
