NHL Rumors: New York Rangers Making Trade Offers

The New York Rangers are looking to be buyers ahead of the March 3 trade deadline. The Broadway blue shirts are comfortably in a playoff position in the Eastern Conference and general manager Chris Drury will be busy trying to upgrade his lineup. In particular, the Rangers top-six is going to be an area Drury looks to address.

With Mika Zibanejad and Vincent Trocheck down the middle, help is needed on the wing. Drury has a number of options when it comes to potential trade targets, however two names stand out - Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks and Timo Meier of the San Jose Sharks.

Both Kane and Meier are expected to be moved before March 3. Kane has been linked to the team for what seems like months as he holds all the cards in his next destination with his full no-movement clause. The Rangers and reuniting with Artemi Panarin are apparently near the top of Kane's wish list.

As for Meier, the Sharks are rebuilding and are likely tanking for a chance to draft Connor Bedard. He's having a career season and his physical play would mix in well for a Gerard Gallant coached team.

New York has two first-round picks to dangle, as well as several young roster players and top prospects who will appeal to other teams.
