Boston Bruins Rumors: Wild Defenseman Becoming Trade Target

The Boston Bruins are gearing up to be major buyers at the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline, and they have been linked to several players because of it. However, it appears that they have a new defenseman on their radar, as The Fourth Period has reported that they are now being linked to Matt Dumba of the Minnesota Wild.

When looking at the Bruins' defensive group, one could argue that they could use a boost on their right side. While playing at his best, Dumba is a quality second-pairing defenseman, so he certainly could make sense for the Bruins. If the Bruins did acquire him, he could replace Connor Clifton on the bottom pairing or even take over Brandon Carlo's role on the second pairing. Either way, he would give them another effective defenseman before the postseason. With that, he would also be an option for both the power play and penalty kill.

Dumba has been the subject of trade rumors for quite some time now, so it appears that we could finally see him moved at the deadline. In 54 games this season, the 28-year-old has four goals to go along with 13 points. Alas, we will need to wait and see if he ends up in Boston from here.
