St. Louis Blues Rumors: Parayko Linked to Western Conference Team

The St. Louis Blues have already started their fire sale, as they have traded Vladimir Tarasenko, Ryan O'Reilly, Niko Mikkola, and Noel Acciari. However, Colton Parayko's name is now starting to be discussed in the trade market, and he is garnering interest because of it. According to The Fourth Period, the Calgary Flames are interested in acquiring the 6-foot-6 defenseman.

The Blues appear to be heading toward a retooling period or even rebuild, so it makes sense that Parayko could now be on the move. With that, it also is understandable that the Flames have him on their radar. It is apparent that their right side could use a boost, and this is especially so when noting that they are aiming to cement themselves as a playoff team. Thus, adding a reliable top-four shutdown defenseman like Parayko is a move worth some consideration.

Parayko would be much more than a rental, however, as he has a $6.5 million cap until the end of the 2029-30 season. With that, he would need to approve a move to the Flames, as he carries a full no-trade clause. Alas, it would take a lot to get this move done, but we will need to wait and see if something comes from Calgary's interest from here.
