Calgary Flames Rumors: 3 Offseason Trade Candidates

Welcome to NHL Trade Rumors' Offseason Trade Candidates series. During it, we will be looking at three players from each team who could be moved during the summer.

In this latest episode, we will be looking at the Calgary Flames. With Calgary's 2022-23 season being a disappointing one, we should expect some notable changes made to their group this summer.

Elias Lindholm: Elias Lindholm became an unexpected trade target at the deadline, as the Flames had talks with the Carolina Hurricanes centering around him. Although the reunion did not come to fruition, one has to wonder if the Flames will actively shop him during the offseason. Keep in mind, he will be in the final year of his contract next season.

Noah Hanifin: Noah Hanifin is another Flame who could become a trade target this offseason. Similar to Lindholm, he will also be a pending UFA next season and will be looking for a raise from his current $4.95 million cap hit. If made available, the Flames could receive a notable return for the 26-year-old top-four defenseman.

MacKenzie Weegar: The Flames were listening to offers for MacKenzie Weegar at the deadline, so it isn't too far-fetched to believe that they could again before free agency begins. The major obstacle in a potential Weegar trade is that his eight-year, $50 million contract begins next season and he carries a full no-trade clause.
