Calgary Flames Rumors: Goalie Linked to Division Rival

After signing Jack Campbell this offseason, the Edmonton Oilers finally believed that they solved their long-term goaltending issues. However, Campbell has struggled mightily in his first season as an Oiler, and there is speculation that the Oilers will be looking to add another goalie during the offseason because of it. Due to this, The Athletic wrote that Dan Vladar could be a possible option for the Oilers to pursue this offseason.

The possibility of the Oilers and Flames doing business together may seem far-fetched to some, but it certainly is possible when it comes to Vladar because he has struggled this season. Although he has a 13-6-5 record, his .896 save percentage in 26 appearances is certainly underwhelming. With that, the Flames may want to move him and his $2.2 million cap hit starting next season because of it.

Vladar has shown in the past that he can be a reliable netminder, so perhaps the Oilers could make a push for him this summer. Alas, we will need to wait and see if these two teams end up striking a deal during the offseason from here.
