ESPN Announce New NHL Themed Documentary

Over the past decade, ESPN has made some incredible sports documentaries focused on the MLB, NFL, NBA and NHL, but the latter has been ignored for the most part in comparison, so this week, that was somewhat rectified as ESPN announced a new NHL themed documentary coming soon.

The subject of this documentary? The riots that occurred following the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals in Vancouver, and while there's plenty of interesting topics for future NHL documentaries, this one is no doubt going to be very interesting. 

ESPN Films has announced a 30 for 30 documentary on the 2011 Vancouver riots after Game 7.

Given ESPN's commitment to showcasing the NHL, this is a great first step in bringing more eyes to the product, and if they can cover some other topics and highlight the sport on their programming more often, it could only be a good thing for the league.
