Minnesota Wild Rumors: 3 Offseason Trade Candidates

Welcome to NHL Trade Rumors' Offseason Trade Candidates series. During it, we will be looking at three players from each team who could be moved during the summer.

In this latest episode, we will be discussing the Minnesota Wild. With Minnesota having limited cap space due to the Ryan Suter and Zach Parise buyout penalties, they may be forced to move out some players this summer.

Mats Zuccarello: Mats Zuccarello is a player to pay attention to closely this offseason. Although he has an impressive 64 points in 70 games this season, the 35-year-old is also about to enter the final year of his contract in 2023-24. With the Wild having very limited cap space, it will be hard for them to re-sign during the 2024 Offseason, so perhaps they could take advantage of his high trade value and move him.

Marcus Foligno: Marcus Foligno will be in the final year of his contract next season, so the Wild could consider moving him and his $3.1 million this offseason. The 31-year-old winger has also seen his offensive production fall off a bit this season, as he has 20 points in 55 games played. Yet, when noting that he is a very physical middle-six forward who plays a heavy game, there should be a big market for him.

Alex Goligoski: The Wild will work hard to move Alex Goligoski's $2 million cap hit this offseason. The big issue, however, is that he has a full no-movement clause. Yet, when noting that he has become the odd man out on their blueline, perhaps he would be open to a move.
