New York Islanders Rumors: 3 Offseason Trade Candidates

Welcome to NHL Trade Rumors' Offseason Trade Candidates series. During it, we will be looking at three players from each team who could be moved during the summer.

In this latest piece, we will be focusing on the New York Islanders.

J.G. Pageau: After acquiring Bo Horvat from the Vancouver Canucks, the Islanders' center depth has gotten a bit crowded. As a result of this, J.G. Pageau picked up a lot of steam at the deadline but ultimately ended up staying put. However, once the summer rolls around, don't be surprised to hear the Islanders are listening to offers again.

Josh Bailey: For the entirety of his 1,054-game career, Josh Bailey has been an Islander. However, with cap space being at a premium and Bailey's offensive play declining, the Islanders are likely to shop him and his $5 million cap hit this offseason. He has zero trade protection as well, so he could be moved as a cap dump with a draft pick to a rebuilding team like the Arizona Coyotes, Anaheim Ducks, or Chicago Blackhawks.

Sebastian Aho: There is a chance that the Islanders end up moving Sebastian Aho this offseason as well. This is because they have young defensemen like Samuel Bolduc and Robin Salo who could take over his spot on the bottom pairing. There should be a decent market for him as well, as he has 21 points in 66 games played.
