San Jose Sharks to Sign Prospect Defenseman

Valtteri Pulli was receiving plenty of NHL interest as an undrafted free agent, and now it appears that he has found a home. According to NHL insider Jeff Marek, it should be announced soon that the San Jose Sharks have signed Pulli to an entry-level contract.

Pulli just put up a strong season with TPS of the Finnish Liiga, as he has three goals to go along with 14 assists in 53 games. Overall, this is solid play when noting that this was his first full season playing professional hockey. Now, he has earned an NHL contract because of it from San Jose.

Once this move is official, the Sharks will be landing a very promising prospect. When noting that the Sharks' roster is immensely weak, we could see Pulli get into NHL action as soon as next season. Overall, he has all the tools to become an effective NHL regular, as he offers size (6-foot-6) to go along with solid defensive play. Thus, this looks like a good move for the Sharks at the end of the day.
