Calgary Flames Rumors: Forward Becoming Trade Candidate

After missing the playoffs, the Calgary Flames are expected to make changes to their group. As a result, if Elias Lindholm is not open to signing a long-term extension with Calgary this summer, there is a chance that we will see him moved.

The Flames likely want to keep Lindholm around, as he was once again one of their best all-around forwards in 2022-23. In 80 games, the 2013 first-round pick had 22 goals to go along with 66 points. Overall, on a Flames team that struggled to produce, Lindholm still put up good numbers. Perhaps he could put up even better totals on a team with more offensive weapons.

Lindholm will certainly garner plenty of interest if the Flames officially listen to offers for him, as he is a legitimate top-six forward who performs well offensively and is effective defensively. We will need to wait and see if the Flames end up moving him this summer from here.
