Colorado Avalanche Rumors: Capitals Center Becoming Trade Target

The Colorado Avalanche are expected to be on the hunt for help down the middle this offseason. As a result of this, there are rumblings that they could end up being one of the teams in the mix for Evgeny Kuznetsov this offseason.

The Avalanche's center depth took a notable hit this past offseason when they lost Nazem Kadri to the Calgary Flames. Now, it could be hurt even further if J.T. Compher ends up leaving via free agency. As a result, they certainly could be in the mix for Kuznetsov, as he could be the perfect 2C for them moving forward.

The Capitals are expected to make changes this offseason as their very disappointing 2022-23 season, and Kuznetsov has emerged as their top trade target because of it. In 81 games this season, the 30-year-old center had 12 goals to go along with 43 assists.

Nevertheless, we will now need to wait and see if the Avalanche end up acquiring Kuznetsov during the offseason from here.
