Montreal Canadiens Rumors: Forward On Team's Radar

The Montreal Canadiens had another rough season, but that was expected. Although they struggled, they are expected to be more aggressive in free agency this summer, as they are looking to be competitive next season. As a result, there are rumblings that they are set to make a push for Alex Killorn if he hits the free-agent market.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are expected to try to keep Killorn around, but they also simply may not have the money to help make that come to fruition. As a result, it seems more likely than not that the veteran will hit the open market, and he would be an excellent fit for the Canadiens. After all, he would provide them with a top-six forward who has an immense amount of experience and two Stanley cups on his résumé. As a result, he could be a wonderful mentor for the team's younger players.

We will need to wait and see if the Canadiens can sign Killorn this offseason, but it is certainly not a guarantee, as several teams will be involved in the sweepstakes. Alas, time will tell what happens on that front from here.
