NHL Rumors: 3 Teams Expected to Target Dmitry Orlov This Offseason

Dmitry Orlov is one of the top pending UFAs this offseason, and he will garner plenty of interest around the league if he elects to test the open market. As a result, let's go over some clubs who will likely pursue him.

Boston Bruins: The Boston Bruins hit a home run when they acquired Orlov (along with Garnet Hathaway) from the Washington Capitals before the deadline passed. He has been a major addition to their top four, and the Bruins will certainly be aiming to re-sign him because of it. However, they have limited cap space, so they will need to move out players to make it happen.

Los Angeles Kings: The Los Angeles Kings boosted up the left side of their defensive group when they acquired Vladislav Gavrikov. However, he is a pending UFA and expected to test the market, so the Kings could replace him with an upgrade in Orlov.

Pittsburgh Penguins: The Pittsburgh Penguins could be in the market for a top-four left-shot defenseman this offseason, as Brian Dumoulin is a pending UFA. The Penguins dealt with Orlov many years when he was a Capital, and it is likely that they would love to add him to their blueline because of it.
