NHL Rumors: 3 Teams Expected to Target Patrick Kane This Offseason

After a truly historic tenure with the Chicago Blackhawks, future Hockey Hall of Famer Patrick Kane was dealt to the New York Rangers before the deadline passed. However, he is also a pending UFA, so there is a chance that we could see him find another new home this summer. Thus, let's discuss three teams who are expected to pursue him this offseason.

New York Rangers: The Rangers are likely to try to bring back Kane, and there's a good chance that he wants to stay. After all, with his full no-movement clause, he forced a trade to Broadway. However, the real issue for the Rangers is that they may not have the cap space to make it work because they have multiple players to re-sign.

Buffalo Sabres: The Buffalo Sabres are on the rise and should compete for a playoff spot next season. As a result, now is the perfect time for them to bring the hometown kid home and sign Kane. He would become a leader in their locker room and would be a nice fit in their top six.

Carolina Hurricanes: If Kane wants a chance to compete for the Stanley Cup, he could pack his bags and sign with the Carolina Hurricanes this offseason. After all, they are one of the top teams in the NHL and could use another star winger in their lineup.
