Los Angeles Kings Rumors: Predators Star Goalie Becoming Trade Target

Goaltending was the major issue for the Los Angeles Kings this season. Although Joonas Korpisalo proved to be a solid rental, there is no guarantee he will be back next year given his pending unrestricted free agent status. As a result, the Kings could be forced to hunt for another goalie this summer, and Nashville Predators star Juuse Saros has emerged as a prime trade target because of it.

David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period recently reported that the Kings and Predators had trade talks centering around Saros leading up to the deadline, so LA recently had a confirmed interest in him. As a result, this could be something that the Kings explore again this summer, depending on what occurs with Korpisalo.

Saros would be a long-term answer for the starter role if acquired by the Kings. The 28-year-old just put together another excellent season for Nashville, sporting a 33-23-7 record, a 2.69 goals-against average, and a .919 save percentage. Having that kind of stability in the net would be massive for Los Angeles.

Nevertheless, we will now need to wait and see if the Kings end up bringing in Saros during the summer. On paper, there is a clear match here, but it would also force the Kings to give up several assets in the process.
