NHL Rumors: Jesse Puljujarvi Linked to New Team

In a recent article for The Hockey News, Sammi Silber wrote that the Washington Capitals should consider signing Jesse Puljujarvi on a professional tryout contract.

Silber argued that new Capitals head coach Spencer Carberry has done an excellent job developing up-and-coming players, so he could be the perfect coach for Puljujarvi to play for. Keep in mind, Puljujarvi is a former top prospect who has had past success in the league.

Puljujarvi spent last season split between the Edmonton Oilers and Carolina Hurricanes, where he posted five goals, 16 points, and a minus-13 rating in 75 games. It was a year to forget for the 25-year-old winger, but there is reason to believe he could bounce back if given the chance. Keep in mind, he just posted a 36-point campaign in 65 games the season before.

We will need to wait and see if the Capitals decide to take a shot on Puljujarvi from here.
