NHL Rumors: Kings & Senators Becoming Possible Trade Candidates

The Los Angeles Kings started the season off as one of the best teams in the entire league. However, they have fallen off of a cliff as of late, winning just one out of their last 10 games, including an eight-game losing streak. Due to their recent struggles, the Kings are now expected to make changes to their group before the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline passes.

The Ottawa Senators, on the other hand, are one of the worst teams in the league and are ready to be sellers at the deadline. Jakob Chychrun is one player who has been picking up a lot of steam in the rumor mill, and just like last season, the Kings are one of the clubs expressing interest in him.

The Kings certainly could use a legitimate top-pairing left-shot defenseman on their roster for the playoffs. While their defense is far from bad, they would still benefit from getting a big-time player like Chychrun. He would fit on their top pairing and also be a key contributor to both their power play and penalty kill if acquired.

The Kings also have excellent trading assets to work with, so the Senators could certainly view them as a strong team to trade with.

We will now need to wait and see if the Kings and Senators end up striking a deal centering around Chychrun before the deadline officially passes from here.
