Flyers Rumors: 2 New Teams Linked to Sean Walker

The Philadelphia Flyers are having an excellent 2023-24 season, as they currently have a playoff spot as a rebuilding team. However, although this is the case, they have already confirmed that their plan is still to be sellers at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. Their most notable rental candidate is defenseman Sean Walker.

Walker is having a strong season for the Flyers, and there is a lot of interest in him because of it. The Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, and Tampa Bay Lightning have been heavily linked to him over the last several weeks. However, according to The Fourth Period, the New Jersey Devils and Colorado Avalanche are now also linked to the right-shot defenseman.

The Devils are going to be eyeing all right-shot defensemen on the trade market. Dougie Hamilton is out long-term, and they need some help on their right side because of it. While Walker would not be able to replicate Hamilton's offense, he would give them a solid option for their bottom pairing, and he would work on their penalty kill.

As for the Avalanche, they have a hole on the right side of the bottom pairing that a player like Walker would be able to fix immediately. He would give them an experienced option for the bottom pairing, and he also would be a possible option for their special team units.

We will need to wait and see if either of these two clubs ends up landing Walker from here. However, Toronto, Tampa Bay, and Edmonton are certainly not going to make it easy for them.
