Sharks Rumors: 3 Teams Expressing Interest in Alexander Barabanov

The San Jose Sharks are among the worst teams in the NHL, so they are naturally set to be sellers at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. They have several players who have been in the rumor mill because of it, and one of them is Alexander Barabanov.

While Barabanov has had a tough season, he has shown in recent seasons that he can be a solid middle-six forward, so there will be a market for him between now and the deadline. According to The Fourth Period, three teams who are currently linked to him are the Edmonton Oilers, Florida Panthers, and Colorado Avalanche.

The Oilers could certainly use a bit of a boost in their top nine, so it is understandable that they have their eyes on Barabanov. He would be a good addition to their group, and he could heat back up playing on a much better Oilers club.

The Panthers are in a similar boat to the Oilers. While they are one of the top teams in the league, they would benefit by adding at least one forward to their top nine before the deadline. Barabanov could fit on their third line, as he would give that trio a needed playmaker.

As for the Avs, it is clear that they are looking for help with their forward group, as they would benefit by adding some secondary scoring.

We will need to wait and see if any of these three teams land Barabanov before the deadline passes from here.
