Stars Rumors: Ducks Defenseman On Team's Radar

The Dallas Stars are gearing up for a big 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. They are expected to be one of the league's top buyers, as they are among the top teams in the NHL right now, and they have high expectations for the postseason because of it.

One area that the Stars are going to actively look to improve is the right side of their defensive group. They absolutely could use more depth on their right side, and one player who the Stars could look to bring in over these next few weeks because of it is Anaheim Ducks defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin.

Lyubushkin is expected to be moved before the trade deadline passes, as he has an expiring contract, and the Ducks are among the worst teams in the NHL. Due to this, the Ducks are surely going to be big sellers at the deadline, and Lyubushkin is standing out as a prime rental candidate because of it.

Lyubushkin would be a nice addition to the Stars' bottom pairing and penalty kill due to his steady defensive play. Along with that, he would give them plenty more physicality, which is certainly needed during the postseason.

Lyubushkin will garner a ton of attention around the league over these next few weeks, so the Stars will have competition for him if they hope to land him. Let's see if they end up being the lucky club that gets him from here.
