Wild Rumors: Pat Maroon Connected to Atlantic Team

The Minnesota Wild have had a disappointing 2023-24 season, and the expectation is that they will be sellers at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. Because of this, one of their most notable trade candidates is pending unrestricted free agent Pat Maroon.

Maroon is going to generate a lot of interest over these next few weeks, as he is a physical bottom-six forward with plenty of experience and, of course, three Stanley Cups on his resume. As a result of this, one team who fans should keep a very close eye on in the Maroon sweepstakes is the Florida Panthers.

The Panthers are going to be looking to add to their bottom six before the deadline, and Maroon would be a nice fit on their roster. One major reason for this is that the Panthers love their physical players, and bringing in a gritty forward like Maroon would give them another one.

Maroon would also provide the Panthers with more leadership in a fourth-line role, which is certainly something that has the potential to help strengthen their roster.

Maroon has been generating some interest around the league, as the Lightning and Edmonton Oilers are confirmed to be interested in him. However, the Panthers should absolutely not be ruled out, as he is exactly the kind of bottom-six forward that they could use right now.
