Blue Jackets Rumors: 3 Free Agents to Target This Offseason

Welcome to NHL Trade Rumors' 2024 Free-Agent Targets series. During it, we will be discussing three pending unrestricted free agents that each team should aim to sign.

In this latest installment of the series, we will look at the Columbus Blue Jackets. It has been another tough year for the Blue Jackets, but they are in a position to make some additions.

Elias Lindholm: The Blue Jackets were one of the many teams who were interested in Elias Lindholm before he was traded to the Vancouver Canucks. With the Blue Jackets looking to be competitive and needing help down the middle, this is not too surprising. Thus, they are a team to watch if he hits the market this summer.

Jordan Martinook: The Blue Jackets could use a bit more grit and energy in their bottom six, so Jordan Martinook could be a player worth targeting. He would also give them a bit more leadership and experience, which is something that would benefit a struggling team like the Blue Jackets.

Matt Grzelcyk: The Blue Jackets would benefit by improving the left side of their defense. One player who could stand out to them is Matt Grzelcyk if he hits the market. He would give their top four a bit of a boost and would work on their penalty kill.
