Flames Rumors: 3 Contract Extension Candidates

The 2024 NHL Trade Deadline saw several teams make moves, and the league looks far different now because of it. However, now that the deadline has passed, we won’t see any more trades until after the season. Although this is the case, we still could see teams sign players to contract extensions. As a result, we here at NHLTR will be going over three contract extension candidates from each team.

In this latest edition of the series, we will be focusing on the Calgary Flames.

Dustin Wolf: Dustin Wolf is in the final season of his entry-level contract. Due to this, he will be getting a contract from the Flames. He is one of the top goalie prospects in the entire league, and he has very high upside. Thus, they will surely be keeping the pending restricted free agent around.

A.J. Greer: At the beginning of the season, the Calgary Flames claimed A.J. Greer off of waivers. He has been a solid addition to their bottom six, as he has provided plenty of physicality and toughness. Thus, it would not be too shocking if they signed him to a cheap extension before the season is over.

Oliver Kylington: Oliver Kylington has expressed interest in signing a contract extension with the Flames, and it seems likely that they will be keeping him around. They could have moved the pending UFA at the deadline but elected to keep him.
