Flyers Rumors: 3 Contract Extension Candidates

The 2024 NHL Trade Deadline saw several teams make moves, and the league looks far different now because of it. However, now that the deadline has passed, we won’t see any more trades until after the season. Although this is the case, we still could see teams sign players to contract extensions. As a result, we here at NHLTR will be going over three contract extension candidates from each team.

In this latest edition of the series, we will focus on the Philadelphia Flyers.

Bobby Brink: Bobby Brink is having a solid season with the Flyers in 2023-24. He has emerged as a legitimate NHL player, posting nine goals, 20 points, and a plus-6 rating in 45 games. Because of this, the Flyers certainly could look to get him signed to his next contract before the season is over.

Egor Zamula: Egor Zamula is another young Flyers player who has taken a step forward this season. In 56 games, he has five goals, 13 points, and a plus-9 rating. He is establishing himself as a key part of the Flyers' blue line, so a new contract should come the pending RFA's way in the near future.

Marc Staal: The Flyers could look to extend Marc Staal. While his best days are behind him, he has been a serviceable depth defenseman for Philadelphia this season. Furthermore, with the Flyers being a young team, having a veteran like Staal around as a mentor for another season would not be the worst thing in the world.
