Bruins Rumors: 3 Free-Agent Destinations for Kevin Shattenkirk

Boston Bruins defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk has been a decent bargain signing for the club this season. In 58 games, the New York native has five goals to go along with 22 points. Overall, that is pretty good offense from a bottom-pairing defenseman, and he should get some interest around the league if he hits the market this offseason. Let's discuss three teams who could target him because of it now.

Carolina Hurricanes: The Carolina Hurricanes could certainly be in the market for a depth right-shot defenseman like Shattenkirk this offseason. Tony DeAngelo, Brett Pesce, and Jalen Chatfield are all pending UFAs, so they could lose some players from their blue line. Thus, adding a player like Shattenkirk could be in the cards.

Tampa Bay Lightning: The Tampa Bay Lightning could consider reuniting with Shattenkirk this summer. There is no question that they could use some help on the right side of their defense, and he would be a decent addition to their bottom pairing if signed.

New York Islanders: The New York Islanders could use some offense from the point. Because of this, bringing in a veteran like Shattenkirk at a low cap hit could be worthwhile. He would also give their power play a boost.
