Breaking Maple Leafs News: Official Word On Matthew Knies' Status for Game 7
Leafs Nation has been holding its collective breath waiting for word on injured top liner Matthew Knies's status for Game 7 on Sunday night. Now the word is in:
Knies is good to go as the Toronto Maple Leafs host the Florida Panthers for the right to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Berube on Knies: "He’s good to go. I anticipate using him (as he normally would)."

What's the worst thing Berube played through as a player? "Probably between my ears." #Leafs
Knies had suffered an awkward hit behind the Panthers net and was seen on the bench in a lot of pain during Friday's Game 6 Toronto victory. He was forced to miss a few shifts and was even briefly replaced on the top line.

Matthew Knies to take regular shift for Game 7
But according to Berube, he'll be taking his regular shift with Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner Sunday night.
"He’s good to go. I anticipate using him (as he normally would)."
Losing Knies would have been a huge hit to the Leafs' hopes, though how effective he'll be is still to be seen.
The 22-year-old pending RFA had a breakout season in his second full year with Toronto, scoring 29 goals and adding 29 assists for 58 points with a +7 rating in 78 games. He played 18:31 per night.
He's been even more of a factor during the playoffs, with five goals in 12 games, while logging a career-high 20:11 average ice time. The 6-foot-3, 227-pounder has also handed out 31 hits in the postseason after delivering 182 during the regular campaign.
