NHL Rumors: 3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations For Nikolaj Ehlers

Nikolaj Ehlers, Winnipeg Jets

The Winnipeg Jets' playoff run came to an end with their 2-1 overtime loss to the Dallas Stars on May 17. Now, a busy off-season awaits for the Central Division club.

The Jets have several pending free agents entering the summer, but Nikolaj Ehlers is undoubtedly the most notable. If he becomes a free agent on July 1, the star winger will generate a ton of interest. Thus, let's look at three teams who could look to sign him.

Seattle Kraken

The Kraken need another high-impact forward if they hope to turn things around. Thus, they certainly stand out as a club who could look to bring in Ehlers this off-season. If they signed him, he would be a clear fit on their first line and would become an important piece of their power play as well.

Carolina Hurricanes

The Hurricanes could be a team to watch if Ehlers becomes an unrestricted free agent on July 1. They have been connected to him in the past, and he would give their top six even more skill. When looking at a potential fit for him in the Hurricanes' lineup, he could work well on their second line.
Buffalo Sabres.

Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks need to get young star Connor Bedard more support, and bringing in a talented winger like Ehlers would certainly help on that front. Ehlers could thrive playing on a line with Bedard, especially when noting that he is both a scoring threat and strong passer.
