Flames Rumors: 3 Potential Trade Destinations For Rasmus Andersson
Calgary Flames defenseman Rasmus Andersson will be a player to keep an eye on this summer. The 28-year-old blueliner is entering the final season of his contract in 2025-26 and has been starting to create more chatter as a trade candidate because of it.
If the Flames end up making Andersson available for trade this summer, expect these three teams to target him.
Buffalo Sabres
The Sabres desperately need a top-pairing right-shot defenseman, and a player like Andersson could grab their attention because of it. If the Sabres acquired him, he would immediately become their best right-shot defenseman and could form an elite pairing with captain Rasmus Dahlin.
Dallas Stars
The Stars would be another team to keep an eye on if Andersson is made available. The right side of their defense could use a real boost this summer, and bringing in Andersson would give it just that. Furthermore, Andersson's affordable $4.55 million could make him only more of an appealing target for a top contender like the Stars.
Boston Bruins
After trading Brandon Carlo to the Toronto Maple Leafs at the deadline, the Bruins need help on the right side of their defense. Thus, they could make a real push for Andersson, especially when noting that they have cap space to work with. He could slot nicely on Boston's second pairing with Hampus Lindholm if acquired.
