NHL Rumors: 3 Pittsburgh Penguins Trade Candidates For 2025 Offseason
It was another tough season for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and changes could very well be on the way this summer because of it. Due to this, let's discuss three of their top trade candidates for this off-season.
Erik Karlsson
Karlsson has had trouble fitting into the Penguins' system, and he has come up as a trade candidate because of it. Karlsson could be a great addition for a contender looking for more offense from the point, especially if the Penguins are willing to retain some of his salary.
Rickard Rakell
Rakell was an incredibly popular name in the rumor mill leading up to the deadline. He generated a lot of interest, but the Penguins elected to hold onto him. They are expected to listen to offers for him again this summer. After his excellent 2024-25 season, his value is undoubtedly at its highest right now.
Bryan Rust
Rust is another notable Penguin who has the potential to be dealt this off-season. His full no-movement clause expires this summer, so he is a player the Penguins can freely move now. With the Penguins continuing to struggle, it is fair to wonder if they will hear offers for the 33-year-old. He could get them a nice haul in a potential move.
