Ducks Agree To Trade Zegras To Flyers
Hearing Trevor Zegras will be traded to Philadelphia

The Ducks are receiving Ryan Poehling and Philadephia's 2025 second-round pick as well as their 2026 fourth-round pick in exchange for Zegras.
This is a move that needed to be made for the Ducks as Zegras hasn't been the same player he was in his first two seasons and had to have a change in scenery. The Flyers get a good, young forward who put up multiple 20-goal, 60-point seasons already and can play center. The center market is weak and this could be the perfect addition to play down the middle on the second line next season.
The Flyers are also a younger team and not going for the Stanley Cup immediately, so it gives Zegras a little bit of breathing room to get back to top form and settle in. A new environment could be a major difference for him and he has a lot of skill.
From the perspective of the Ducks, they get a forward back in Poehling who will play in their bottom-6, but also a couple of draft picks. The team did want a first-round pick for Zegras and probably still did, but that turned out not to be a reality. This trade will likely end up as a loss for the Ducks, but it wasn't going anywhere if Zegras stayed in Anaheim anyways. They cut their losses and opened up room in the top-9 for another big offseason addition that is inevitably coming.
