What were Matthew Tkachuk's injuries in the playoffs?
Tkachuk says he tore the adductor off the bone, as well as dealing with a sports hernia on the same side of his body. And yet, he still had 23 points in 23 games to help lead his team to a back-to-back Stanley Cup win. Absolutely insane.
Tkachuk added that the pain he was in even made him think about "throwing in the towel a bunch of times," and thanked his doctors, trainers and his fiancee for getting him through it.
Meanwhile, there he was, literally hoisting the Stanley Cup over his head. Yes, with a torn adductor and a hernia.

The injuries obviously occurred during the 4 Nations tournament in mid-February, as he never returned to the Florida lineup after that, until the playoffs.
The Panthers' warrior was able to play just 52 games during the regular season, but still registered 22 goals and 35 assists for 57 points.

Maybe the "Stanley Cup belt" will help ease his hernia pain while he awaits surgery.
