NHL Rumors: 5 Teams Linked To Sabres' JJ Peterka

Buffalo Sabres forward JJ Peterka is one of the NHL's top trade candidates this offseason. The expectation is that there is a good chance he will get moved.

Peterka is reportedly generating plenty of interest, as The Fourth Period reported that the New York Rangers, Vancouver Canucks, Utah Mammoth, Calgary Flames, and Columbus Blue Jackets are all linked to Peterka.

Hearing that Peterka is generating interest from multiple teams is not surprising in the slightest. This is because Peterka is a 23-year-old forward who is already an impactful top-six winger and has the potential to blossom into a star.

The Rangers and Canucks being interested is entirely understandable. Both clubs performed far below expectations this season and missed the playoffs. Thus, bringing in a skilled forward like Peterka could be exactly what helps them get back on track in 2025-26.

Utah, Calgary, and Columbus all wanting to bring in Peterka is also easy to comprehend. All three teams are heading in the right direction and just fell short of the playoffs this year. Thus, they are all in positions to be aggressive this offseason as they look to take that next step and get into the postseason next year. Acquiring Peterka would undoubtedly help each of their chances of doing just that.

Nevertheless, it will be very interesting to see what happens with Peterka. Clearly, the Sabres young star is a hot commodity right now.
