NHL Trade: Overnight Deal Sends Nicolas Hague to Predators, With Extension
The Vegas Golden Knights have cleared out some cap space in advance of a potential Mitch Marner signing, sending pending RFA defenseman Nicolas Hague to the Nashville Predators. In addition, the 6-foot-6 defenseman has himself a large new extension.
After being moved to Nashville, Nicolas Hague has signed a 4-year contract worth $5.5M AAV.

It's a four-year deal at a cap hit of $5.5 million for Hague, something the Golden Knights couldn't have taken on as they look to clear cap space.
Jeremy Lauzon and centre Colton Sissons head to Vegas in return. They each have one year remaining on their deals, at $2M and $2.85, respectively.
The 26-year-old Hague had five goals and seven assists in 68 games this past season with Vegas, a team he's been with since they drafted him in the second round (34th overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft. His ice time diminished during the 2024-25 season, down from the 18:30 or so he'd been averaging for three years, to 17:00 per game.
He was coming off a three-year contract with a $2.29 million AAV, so he landed himself a huge raise.
Sissons, 31, had seven goals and 21 points in 72 games this past year in Nashville, and Lauzon just one point in 28 games.
