Frost, 26, was acquired by the Flames this past season from the Philadelphia Flyers. In 32 games with the Flames following the move, he recorded three goals, 12 points, and a minus-6 rating. This was after he started the campaign with 11 goals and 25 points in 49 games with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Frost was a restricted free agent this off-season for the Flames, but they have now gotten him re-signed with this new deal. This is certainly notable news for the Flames, as they are expecting Frost to be one of their key centers moving forward as they continue to look to take that next step.
When looking at the Flames' roster, Frost should slot nicely in their top nine this upcoming season. In addition, he should also be a clear candidate for power-play time due to his offensive ability.
Frost has appeared in 310 career NHL games over six seasons split between the Flyers and Flames, where he has recorded 53 goals, 94 assists, 147 points, and a minus-39 rating. It will be interesting to see how he improves upon these career stats after landing this nice bridge deal with the Flames from here.
